Vacation Time!

Well hello everyone! We are back from paradise! We got home from the Dominican Republic last week and I must say, it was amazing! It was a completely different experience to be in a third world Country - but the resort was absolutely gorgeous! Nathan and I have not had a vacation just the two of us since our Honeymoon and it was so much fun to have some alone time without the kids. However, on that note, we missed them like crazy! We were so excited to get home and cover them in kisses.

We spent the majority of the vacation either at the pool, beach, or a restaurant. They had 7 restaurants on the resort and it was all included! We either had a yummy tropical drink or food in our hands the entire trip. The beach was amazing and the water was so warm. My fear of the ocean (AKA sharks) kept me from exploring out too far - but I loved being in the ocean without freezing to death.

Here are just a few pictures...

The girls had a blast spending a week with Grandma, I don't think they even noticed we were gone! I of course have to post a few pictures of them too ;)

Now its time to get out of vacation mode and back to life. Don't mind my complaining ;)

Grateful

Happy Mothers Day to all of you wonderful Mama's out there! Today I am SO grateful to be the Mom to these two little red heads...

How did I get so lucky?! These girls are my world and I love them both so much! Cambria is my little fire ball that always has something goofy to say or do and Adeyln is my little snuggle bug sweetie pie. I love being a Mom, I would not want it any other way!

In other news...

We only have 2 days until we will be here...

Eek! I can not wait!!

Change of Direction

Some of you may remember about a month or so ago, I accepted a job as a Kindergarten Teacher. I was so beyond excited for this opportunity. I have always wanted to teach and I saw this as a great way to get my foot in the door. Well, time to crush some dreams here....It did not work out like I had hoped.

The hours were much longer then I expected and I was only seeing my sweet Ady Bear for 2 hours a day. She has an early bed time and she would be ready for bed by the time I got home and just waking up by the time I left in the morning. This was filling me with so much guilt. I seriously had to fight back tears one day as I watched my cute class play on the playground knowing that I am giving them my time and affection, but not my own kids. So, after a huge battle with myself, I decided to turn down the position and look for something that allows me to be home more. I know teaching is what I would love to do - but I may just have to wait until my kids are older and in school as well.

So anyways, let me be the first to introduce you to the new Haley, sever at Applebees! Wahoo, doesn't that just sound like such an amazingly professional job? ;) I have been a server before and I actually really enjoy it. Its an easy way to bring in a few extra dollar signs while still having time with my kids. I know its not my dream job - but it is a fun job and my kids are most important right now. I have plenty of time to have my dream job when they are older and want nothing to do with me anyways.

I mean, come on, who could say no to spending more time with these little red heads!

Picture Time!

Everyone ready for a picture overload? GOOD! Here we go!

Cambria had her second Ballet performance the first of April. She did great and I am so proud of her! She had a hard time concentrating on the dance - but its pretty cute! She loves to dance!

I love my family so much!
As some of you probably know, my family loves Easter! We have a tradition of dying hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of eggs and then taking them to Sugar House Park to roll down the hill. Ok, so it may sound a little crazy - but we love it!

Dying eggs

We planted magic Easter jelly beans and they grew into lolli-pops!

Phew! glad I finally got caught up on all of that. I hope you all had a great Holiday!

Where did Haley go?

Ok Ok, I know you are all wondering what the crap happened to me...or maybe you are glad I am not bugging you anymore, but either way...I am back! Things have been crazy since I started all of this adoption stuff and I am loving it! I guess I just neglected my blog a bit :(. Anyways, things are grand here at the Kirkpatrick household. Here are a few things to update you on:

Ady is almost crawling, seriously, any day now.

Cambria has her second dance performance this week

Cambria can play several notes on the violin

Ady has a tooth!

Nathan was put in a position at work that he enjoys way more and he has better hours, yay!

Haley has had many opportunities open up regarding the adoption stuff and she is superily duperily excited! (and yes, I can make up words)

and we all love that it is finally warm! We spend every second we can playing outside...I still don't know why I live in a state that ever gets cold...

So there ya go! I know, we are so cool. More updates, pictures, and news to come!

Love,
The Kirkpatricks

Best Friends Forever

The Six Chicks
I love this group of girls more then I can say or express! This is the day I had my little angel at 15 years old. They left School to come and sit with me all day while I was in labor (explaining the coordinated school colors). They have been with me through thick and thin and I would do anything for them!

Cambria's 4th Birthday Party

Well, I know it is a little late, but I figured I would finally post pictures of Cambria's Birthday party. We did a slumber party for all of her cousins and friends, she had a BLAST! We started with pizza, pin the tail on the donkey, then we made some cute foam puppets, sang and ate cake, and the favorite of the night, made popcorn! haha, we gathered all the kids around the popcorn maker (yes, old style popcorn maker) and had them watch and yell "popcorn!" for the first piece they saw "pop". They thought it was pretty cool. Then we made our little cars out of card board boxes and started our "drive in movie". They loved it! Cambria still asks us if she can watch her movies in her "car". I hope you enjoy the pictures...

Cambria so excited about all the Balloons!

Her "welcome" Birthday Balloons

You of course have to do a tiara and wand for the Birthday girl!
